Under Florida Statute Section 893.135(1)(i), Trafficking in Gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL) occurs when the defendant sells, delivers, manufactures, or possesses one kilogram or more of GBL.

In Jacksonville, Florida, trafficking in GBL carries a minimum mandatory sentence which depends on the amount of GBL involved. If the amount of GBL trafficked is one kilogram, but less than 5 kilograms, the minimum mandatory sentence is three years. Greater than five kilograms, but less than ten kilograms of GBL carries a sentence of seven years. Anything more than that carries a sentence of 15 years in Florida State Prison.
